HGTV Home Town Takeover - Ashford, Alabama Submission

HGTV took applicants for their campaign, Home Town Takeover. They are looking for towns to give a facelift. I was contacted by one of my fellow Ashford residents about the contest and naturally wanted to help my town give an application. The submission deadline was Friday, February 7, 2020, and was done by creating a video.

Once we knew of the contest, we had a few meetings about how to get the video done, and how we could communicate our message. We took a look at what other towns were saying so we could be strategic on what message we wanted to communicate. My suggestion for what needed to be said, was to look at the contest from the perspective of an investor and answer the question, “Why is Ashford a good investment?”

In the video we explain why Ashford is a good investment because of these reasons:

• Gateway city

• Progressive leadership

• Already have plans for revitalization

• Long-lasting businesses

• and more

On a side note, this was a fun project to be part of in my personal time. Being that I have my own professional photography and videography company, being able to do personal projects like this is something I like to do when I can.
