Make friends not enemies
Tagging artists, creatives, photographers, videographers, etc. is important not just for the gesture of giving credit where credit is due, but for other purposes like making connections.
Ethan Lemieux created a dope video for Mural City Coffee Company and I took notice. He did a great job and I wanted to know the guy who made the video. I wouldn’t have known who the creator was if Mural City didn’t tag his name in their post.
So I reached out to Ethan, said we should meet up for coffee, and we got to do that this morning.
Come to find out he’s got a lot in common with me and there is potential to work on some projects together.
Here’s my message to you. Make friends not enemies. I could have looked at Ethan as a threat or competition, but that’s not my heart or mindset.
I’m motivated to make connections and help our fellow creators as much as I can.
As Ethan put it this morning, “we can accomplish so much more together.”
