From a tech reviewer to owning a photography and videography company.
If you were to ask me 8 years ago if I would be doing photography and videography as a profession today, I would probably shrug it off knowing that was way out of my league. But here I am and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Starting a YouTube channel came from being the type of person who liked to look up reviews before buying something. I got to a point where I thought to myself that I could do this reviewer thing and I wanted to help fill a need in the internet space. I started with smartphone-related content and that’s what has done well since the beginning of the channel.
Fast forward a little a few years later, a photographer friend of mine mentioned I should try to make wedding videos. There were a couple of friends who were getting married around that same time and it worked out to film their wedding.
I did that wedding for free to get one under my belt and the rest is history.
I’ve grown from just doing weddings to working with businesses and organizations. This year we rebranded the company from Joshua Bane to Evergreen Creative Company. There’s a whole blog post talking about the thoughts behind the rebrand.
Rebranding has allowed my name to be freed up to be used in a way that a dream of, which is to travel and as an online influencer for other photographers and videographers. This is where the Joshua Bane brand will be heading.
In the next few weeks, I will be working hard on presenting content from my Montana trip, BTS of weddings, and BTS of event coverage. I’m excited about this direction!
